Keepcompany

Characters who remember you

Keepcompany is a place to talk with characters who keep what matters to you and bring it up later — the night shift you were dreading, the sister who moved away, the plan you made on Tuesday. You can read everything they remember, and change or delete any of it.

Opens 9 November. Closed beta, by personal invitation.

The characters are AI

Everyone here is artificial intelligence. No human is on the other side of the conversation. Characters say so if you ask, and every picture they send is machine-made and marked as such. They can be warm, funny and wrong, sometimes all at once — what they say is invented, not advice.

Keepcompany is for adults, 18 and over. It is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country.

What makes it different

A chat with Emi. Sam writes that the night shift was as bad as expected; Emi remembers that Sam said Tuesday's would be the worst, asks whether Marta covered the second half, and says to sleep first.

Emi's journal with four memories: works night shifts at the hospital; Tuesday's night shift was the hardest of the week; Marta covers the second half of a shift when it runs long; owes Marta coffee for a month. Each has Edit and Forget.
Emi's journal: what she remembers about Sam, each entry editable or forgettable.
