Copyright and trademarks
Keepcompany lets people make and publish characters, pictures and creator profiles. If something here uses your work, your trademark or your likeness without permission, tell us and we will look at it.
We act on copyright and trademark when someone reports it. We don't check uploads, pictures or published characters for copyright ourselves, so a notice is how we find out. (Our safety checks are a separate thing, described on the Safety page.)
How to send a notice
- In the app: choose Report a problem on the character, picture or creator profile, then "Copyright or trademark".
- By email: copyright@keepcompany.ai. You don't need an account.
Please include:
- Who you are: your name, and if you act for someone else, who and how you're allowed to.
- The work: what is being used, such as your artwork, your character, your text or your trademark, with a link or a description that lets us find the original.
- Where it is on Keepcompany: the link to the character, picture or creator profile, or its name and the creator's name.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that this use is not allowed by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or allowed to act for them.
- How to reach you: an email address, and a postal address if you want us to have one.
- Your signature: typing your full name is enough.
A notice that misses something isn't ignored: we write back and ask.
What we do
- We confirm receipt straight away.
- A person reviews it, not the AI. We aim to decide within 7 business days, usually sooner.
- If the notice holds, we remove the content or block access to it, and say so in its place.
- We tell the person who posted it what we removed and why, with a copy of the notice. Your contact details are left out unless you agree.
- We tell you what we decided and why.
If your content was removed: counter-notice
If you think we removed your content by mistake, or you have the right to use it, reply to our email or write to copyright@keepcompany.ai with "Counter-notice" in the subject, within 6 months. Include:
- what was removed and where it was;
- why you believe the removal was a mistake or the use is allowed;
- your name, email address and signature.
A different person from the one who made the first decision looks at it within 14 days. We send the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If we were wrong, we restore the content.
For users in the United States: we follow the counter-notice steps of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We restore the content 10 to 14 business days after a valid counter-notice, unless the person who sent the notice tells us they have gone to court.
Repeat infringers
If valid notices keep reaching us about the same account, we close it. We tell the account holder why, and they can object as described above.
Please be accurate
Sending a notice you know to be false can make you liable, and in the United States it can lead to damages. If you aren't sure whether a use is allowed (a quotation, a parody or fan art, for example), say so in your notice.
Other options
You can take a dispute about our decision to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body; the European Commission publishes the list. You can complain to the Bundesnetzagentur, Germany's Digital Services Coordinator. Your right to go to court is not affected.
For anything else, the content policy explains how we handle other reports, and the Impressum has our full contact details.
